ALn 773 - Ln 664

The ALn 773 railcar was designed by Officine Meccaniche (OM, Milan) in the early 1950s.

Ordered in 1955, construction was carried out by OM and Fiat Ferroviaria from 1956 to 1962.

Strong impact of the Second World War on the industry between 1943 and 1948.

Services provided from 1957 to 1993 by 78 railcars and 56 Ln 664 trailers. The service continued until 1998 and 2018 outside the FS.

FS livery from 1957 to 1965:

• light gray rocker panel in the central part and brick red at the ends
• cream box
• wide green strip at the window level

FS livery from 1961 to 1993:

• magnolia green lower body in the central part and vermilion red at the ends
• fog gray body
• wide magnolia green strip at the window level
